As I write this message, we are only a few days away from departure. Over the past week, I have added a number of posts and links on the Miscellaneous page. These posts are intended for parents and travellers to read before departure, in preparation for the trip to help them to prepare. Many of the posts are in response to questions that the chaperones have fielded from parents or travellers. Some of the topics that are covered include: Packing for Europe, Money and Debit/Credit card use in Europe, Airport Security, Safety and Scams in Europe, as well as some info from Veterans Affairs about the actual ceremony on April 9th.

As a reminder about departure day, please make note of the following information:

Luggage Drop Off

Luggage drop off happens Thursday morning. Doors open at 7:45 am on Thursday, April 6th, for students to bring their luggage. ALL packed suitcases, and carry on luggage MUST be dropped off by 8:10 am that morning. Bring luggage to the small gym change room area.

Students Should Have on Them

To ensure students are prepared to get on a plane and travel overseas, they MUST present the following before being allowed on the bus:

- Behaviour Contract (maybe already delivered to chaperone)

- Their waist safe

- Their passport

Be reminded, on each travel day, we are asking students to wear their purple sweatshirts and red jackets.

Loading and Leaving

Students will be excused from their classes at 12:30 pm. They are to go to the luggage storage area, pick up their luggage, and take it to the appropriate bus. The buses will leave as soon as we are able to safely load all passengers who are eligible to travel with us. Please note, parents are welcome to come and embarass their students with hugs, kisses, and photos as we load the buses for departure. We do ask that parents who show up, be mindful of the time, so that we are not unnecessarily delaying departure of the bus.
